Work from Home Trial
To: all B\&G and Baby Central office-based permanent staff, 全体B\&G 、BBC办公室长期雇员:
We are happy to announce that effective 1st August 2022 we will be trialling a “Work From Home” (WFH) scheme where any permanent staff, in any location, can choose to work from home on one day per week if they wish.
现很高兴地通知大家,从2022年8月1日起公司将试行“在家办公”模式。如各地区的长期雇员愿意,可以选择每周1天在家办公。
During this trial period, staff may pre-book (on Calamari) to work from home for one day on any Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday each week, noting that they should continue to be present in their offices on Monday’s and Friday’s, when working from home is not permitted.
在试行期间,员工可在Calamari系统中提前申请每周二或周三或周四在家办公一天。注意:周一和周五仍在公司办公,不允许申请在家办公。
Please discuss your preferred dates to WFH with your line manager and apply on Calamari before Aug 1st. Thereafter, to ensure fairness and to maximise office productivity, your preferred day to WFH should be discussed 1-month in advance with your line manager, who will be responsible for scheduling WFH rosters and ensuring the smooth running of their teams.
员工可就在8月选择哪一天(周二或周三或周四)在家办公与其上司进行商讨,并于8月1日前在Calamari系统中提交在家办公申请。此后,为了确保公平和高效工作,员工需提前1个月与其上司商讨在家办公的日期,以便其上司做好部门/团队的在家办公安排计划,并确保部门/团队顺利开展工作。
For the avoidance of doubt, when working from home, you must be working and as productive (if not more) than you are when working in the office. This means any non-work related activities such as shopping or household duties must not be undertaken during your normal working hours. It is essential your productivity and availability to other staff is not negatively impacted when working from home.
为免存疑,当在家办公时,员工须在正常工作时间内进行工作,跟在公司办公时一样高效(甚至更高效)。这意味着在正常工作时间内不得进行任何与工作无关的事情,例如去购物或做家务。在家办公期间,员工的工作效率不能受到影响,这一点至关重要。
Please note that if any member of staff is considered to be abusing this professional privilege, the company may take individual disciplinary action and/or terminate the trial for all staff in all locations. Management reserves the right to spot-check on any staff working from home by telephone, message or in person.
如员工没有遵守在家办公规定,公司有权对员工进行纪律处分和/或结束所有地区在家办公模式的试行。管理团队有权保留对在家办公的员工进行电话、短信或亲自监管的权利。
In the next few months, we will seek feedback and assess how the trial may have improved staff work-life balance, morale and productivity, and we will then consider implementing a permanent WFH policy.

Lastly, for those staff who prefer to come into the office five days per week, please continue to do so and please do not feel obliged to WFH for any day of the week.
