Stock Take
---
description: >-
The following describes 2 different methodologies for carrying out a stock
take in Skuvault on a particular shelf.
---
Stock Take
> They both end with the same result (so it’s up to the user to decide which will give the most accurate result)
In both methodologies:
Go to Inventory -> Audit
In the “Location” field box, enter the location code for which you are doing the stock count and then click “Show Items for Location”.
You will also be able to see here the last time the location was counted.
#
Methodology 1
Click “Location Count”
This will show a popup box. Please read the instructions. The idea is to scan into the box the barcodes of all the products in the location (i.e. one line per item, so if there are, for example, 100 pieces of the same item, you would need to scan it 100 times).
Once done, click “Continue”.
{% hint style="info" %}
NOTE - this will delete everything that was previously recorded as being in the location and replace it with what you have just scanned in.
{% endhint %}
Click the “Mark as Counted” box when you are happy that everything is correct so that the system knows the location has been counted (it is good practice to enter your name here).
#
Methodology 2
Select all the items in the location
Click on the settings icon and select “Remove”
This will delete all items from the location
Now, for each item on the shelf, click “Add Item” and scan in the barcode. You can also enter the quantity of a particular item if there is more than one (e.g. if there are 100 pieces of the same item, you can just scan it once and enter 100 in the quantity box).
Click “Add” to add the item(s) to the location
{% hint style="info" %}
Note - if you click the “Lock Quantity” checkbox, the form will autosubmit with the quantity that you have entered (i..e it will automatically add the item(s) without having to click the “Add” button)
{% endhint %}
Once you are finished adding all items, click the “Mark as Counted” (it is good practice to enter your name here).
