Sick Leave and Time Off Procedures- 2020 (HK)





Doctor Certificate is required if you need more than 2 days sickness absence. A valid sick leave certificate must cover recommended sick leave period and nature of the illness
Attendance Certificate will not be accepted for application of sick leave
If you want to take sick leave, you must call your line manager before 8:00am. Line Manager must report to HR Department for record.
A Return to Work Interview (RWI) is required after back to office (applied 3 days or more )
Please apply Sick Leave at Calamari once returned to work and upload your sick leave certificate to Calamari and pass the original sick leave certificate to HR for record.

Policy – Time-off (1.5 Hours)

Employee will be allowed time-off for attendance at clinics for medical treatment or consultation. If medical conditions permit, time-off arrangement is to minimize any negative impact of staff absence (due to sick leave) on the department concerned.
3 sessions are accepted for time-off arrangement (i.e. 1.5 hours before on duty, 1.5 hours before / after lunch, 1.5 hours before off duty).
Any absence more than 1.5 hours will be counted as a half day annual leave / no pay leave.
For applying time-off, a Sick Leave Certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner or an Attendance Certificate is required.
Please apply Calamari in advance and upload the certificate to Calamari after your return to office and give the hard copy to HR for record.
