How to Create a Coupon in Opencart

In Opencart, go to Marketing -> Coupons.

At the upper right corner, click "+" /Add new.

Put in all the required fields: Code, Coupon Name, Description, Store.

Show on Cart should always be NO. Selecting "yes" will mean that anybody checking out can see this coupon. So DO NOT tick this box unless this is a promotional coupon that we want everybody to use.

Choose the Type whether percentage or fixed amount.

The discount field should be the percentage or the amount of the discount.

Example: If it's 10% discount, choose Percentage for the Type and put 10 for the Discount. If it's HK$50 discount, choose Fixed Amount for the Type and 50.00 for the Discount.

Enter the name of the item if the coupon is offered for a specific item. Please type the name and it will auto populate. Leave blank if it's not applicable.

Include the brands if the discount is offered on specific brand/s. Type the brand and it will autopopulate. Leave blank if it's not applicable.

Exclude the brands if there are exclusions for your discount.  Type the brand and it will autopopulate. Leave blank if it's not applicable.

Set the start and end date, if applicable.

Edit "Uses Per Coupon" and 'Uses Per Customer" if applicable.

At the upper right corner, click "Save and Quit".

You may now give the coupon to the customer/s.
