This Flexible Working Hours policy provides arrangements for a flexible system of attendance to help employees to manage their daily hours of work to suit their individual needs and the needs of the Company

Aims of the Flexible Working Hours Policy
This policy aims to set out the ways in which flexible working can increase staff motivation, build better relationships between the Company and its employees, increase the rate of retention of staff, reduce absence & lateness, attract new talent, promote work–life balance and reduce employee stress, and in doing so improve the Company’s efficiency and productivity.

Working Time Bandwidth
As per the Employment Contract, all Employee’s working time bandwidth is 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. From now on, all employees in the Hong Kong Office will be given a choice with the second bandwidth e.g. 9.30 am to 6.30 pm subject to:
1. meeting operational and team requirements (to be agreed withline management),including accessibility to external and internal customers and clients;
2. meeting contractual hours of attendance.
If a part day is taken as leave or an early leave is arranged, the off time will be postponed accordingly if the Employee works on the second bandwidth. Normally, 5 hours is deemed as half day. Employees must adhere to the Sickness Absence Policy and contact in the first instance, their line manager or, if they are unavailable, the Head of team or a HR member by 8 am in the morning on their first day of sickness.
Hours of work are not confined to the bandwidth where an employee may, for example, betravelling to a location other than the normal place of work, in connection with their work.

Self-Discipline
Employees arrive office before 9.10 am, they can still choose the first work time bandwidth. However, if they can’t arrive office before 9.10 am, they have to work within the second bandwidth. Under this policy, all employees are expected highly self-disciplined to work within the applicable bandwidth.
In the event that any employees who are late than 9:30am, they are required to inform HR. A reasonable reason should be addressed to their line manager after they arrive to work. Lateness will be recorded if an employee arrives office after 9:30am. Line managers should monitor their team members’ attendance. If an Employee is found frequently late for work, a discipline action should be taken.

Abuse of the Policy
The success of the Policy depends on trust and any employee found to be deliberately abusing this trust will be dealt with under B\&G dismissal and disciplinary procedure.

Interpretation of the Rules of the Policy
Any questions on the operation of the Policy should be addressed in the first instance to your line manager or Head of Team. If further clarification is required, please contact HR.
The operation of the Flexible Working Hours Policy is not a contractual entitlement. B\&G reserves the right to modify or withdraw the policy.
This Policy is only applicable to fulltime employees.
